Simone Faulkner

Hi, I am Simone, Team CP Coach based in Timaru. I am very passionate about multisport in any shape or form.

I love adventures of any type from road cycling, trail running, mountain biking, tramping, kayaking, Rogaine & adventure racing.

I started endurance/multisport racing in my late twenties with running multiple half marathons and marathons. Running had always been my favourite discipline but after support crewing for the Coast to Coast in 2007 I just had to give the race a go myself. I have three children who are now grown up but I understand what it’s like trying to juggle children, full time work and training for an event.

My partner Steve and I spend a lot of time tramping & mountain biking whilst trying to accommodate taking our two very much loved jack Russell dogs as much as we can.

Completing my first two day Coast to Coast in 2008, I  have been involved with the race ever since.  Competing in eleven Coast to Coast Races – six two day races and five longest days.

Switching things up for a year in 2012, I moved to Triathlon so I could complete Challenge Wanaka Full Ironman, this was a huge challenge for me as I had to learn to swim to get to the finish line.

My claim to fame was winning the female two day veteran category in 2014 and placing 3rd in the Coast to Coast Longest Day veterans in 2019 & 2020. I love to challenge myself and see how much I can improve as I get older.

All three of my children have all competed in the Coast to Coast . One of the biggest highlights about the Coast to Coast for me is racing and training with my kids and the rest of the multisport community, that is so awesome!

I completed a level 4 Pre Health course at Ara in 2021 & and am currently studying a NZ certificate Sport Coaching through SIT. I am very interested in nutrition & completed the “Foundations of Nutrition Science”, through Cliff Harveys “Holistic Performance Nutrition” in 2021.

I also completed a Plant Based Nutrition course with “T Colin Campbell Centre for Nutrition Studies” in 2020.

I love to help people achieve their goals and with my experience I love to share what I have learnt over the years making their journey more manageable.
