Growing up sport was my passion, I’ve played a wide variety of sports including netball, basketball, touch and rugby. Competitive in nature, I was always looking for that next challenge. Then came 2007, I was asked to crew for my cousin for the Coast to Coast. The excitement of it made me want to try it for myself. The following year, after racing all 243km, I was hooked, this lead to me competing in the longest day.
Since taking up multisport i have found a passion for venturing through the hills , and getting out and getting it done. Multisport is both mentally and physically challenging. Overcoming these hurdles helped me grow, find an inner strength, and realise the feats I can accomplish.
I have done a wide variety of racing over the past 8 years from multisport, mountain biking, adventure racing, road cycling and am just about to undertake my first half ironman. My favourite discipline is running, every step is another adventure.
When I am not out and about in the hills, I am chasing around after my 2 young boys.
My husband Sam enjoys similar pursuits. There never seems to be a lazy sunday in our house, we are always outside doing something.
I have always loved motivating others to get out and give it a go, as I’ve always said: “the secret of getting ahead is getting started”
